Rive My Heart in Two

It is with a hulking heavy heart and a tender teary eye that I bid farewell to one of my closest and dearest friends. Bronte is going away. Not just a little further away but to an entirely different continent. She is moving to Canada with her husband. The chances of ever meeting again are slim, maybe impossible.

It will not only be me that really misses her. Both Pip and Busby are grieving about the loss. We had a farewell drink last eve in Belgravia. (“Belgravia? Posh git,” working class Ed) It was a jolly affair. Upon leaving we had a quick hug and a swift farewell.

Goodbyes are best done quickly and without too much emotion. I apologise to Bronte if she thought I was heartless by making a quick getaway. I just did not want to become teary.

I also want to apologise for our pathetic leaving gift. Two mugs from a pair of mugs.

So I will say it again Bronte – You are the best and I will really miss you. You are a very special person and there will always be an especial place in my heart for you. Keep in touch (we now have the power of email – technology is a wonderful thing) and buy my album when it comes out.

Right, I’m off for a bit of a cry and maybe a quick pint, sorrow drowning and that. You coming Pip?

Nelson I really get this. My friend Ju moved to NZ about 5 years ago and I still miss her so much, but we email, and we talk every couple of months, and when she came back for a visit it was just like it used to be. I don’t know if you remember my mate Destine, but she moved to NZ in January and that was rough too, but we facebook and there’s skype and it’s all good. And now you have a really cool place to go on holiday with free accommodation. Result.

Hugs. You’ll be ok, and you won’t lose her. :)

You’re right Jo, it is alot easier to keep in touch nowadays and I’m sure we will. I hadn’t thought of the free holiday thing. Don’t know if her husband will approve though.
