I had a brilliant dream last night. I rarely have vivid dreams and when I do I tend to immediately forget them. Nowadays, I do not have time to start dreaming with all the alarms and sirens going off outside. My dream was in the style of the film Cloverfield.
A giant unseen monster was attacking London and I was caught up in the chaos. The action was seen from my point of view. I was all alone and running scared. My initial plan was to get back to my flat – I was bound to be safe there during a monster attack. I could hide in my wardrobe with a bottle of wine and some toast.
I jumped on a bus, they were still running fortunately. It was an old Routemaster bus. I thought it was the number 8, which would take me to Bethnal Green, a short walk from home. However, it was a number 6, which was going to Jamaica Inn. Is there a Jamaica Inn in London?
I asked the driver how to get back to East London. He had started to become rather sinister and strange. I realised that the monster had possessed him and was controlling his mind. I now could not trust anyone. There were some other people on the bus, I noticed they were dead. He wanted to kill me so I tired to run away, but my limbs would only respond sluggishly.
I came to a large bridge across the Thames. I could see how Central London was being destroyed by something massive and unseen. Military aircraft were bombarding the monster and destroying London in the process. There was chaos and panic as I tried to get onto the bridge.
I met a very pretty lady and offered to help her but she just ignored me. Then I realised I was wearing nothing but a bra and a pair of tights and I could only run in slow motion.
I awoke, covered in sweat, with the sound of an alarm ringing in my ears.

Hmmm. There must be a hidden meaning here. I can’t think what it might be…erm, perhaps something like, ‘never pit your wits against bus drivers, it’s likely you’ll end up in a fix’, or ‘Don’t walk on the grass.’
You sure it was a dream? You have been drinking a lot of cocktails recently.
I would not try and find any hidden meaning, except that I may just be bonkers.
