The Christmas Stone

At last, I have shifted my Christmas weight gain. Over a week and a half in late December I ate copious amounts of lovely festive food. I did this at my mother’s and at Chez Napoleon. I managed to gain a stone and felt obese and very disappointed with myself. Small children were laughing and pointing at the fat man.

Upon arriving back in London at the beginning of January I forced myself back into my healthy daily routine. I did daily exercise, walked briskly and aggressively for an hour and a half every day and ate frugally (a man can live on fruit and carrots alone, you know).

However, the weight just would not shift. I tried going to bed without any tea or drinking water instead of eating, but nothing would work.

As we now enter the middle of March I have finally managed to lose my extra flab. I am back to my ideal weight of ten stone. My stomach is flat and I have no extra chins. I can again wear tight shirts or even tight dresses if I feel like it.

To celebrate I am going to treat myself to a fried breakfast, followed by a pizza and chips, a kebab and then a big cream cake. Yummy.

Or maybe I’ll just have an orange and a carrot.

Again.

10 stone!? That’s not very heavy - even for a 10 stone 6 ft weakling like yourself, Nelson. Get down the gym.
