Body Rebellion

Something is happening tomorrow, something major. I am not telling you what it is yet. It is an adventure whereby I need to be one hundred percent fit and healthy. Not much to ask, I am fit and healthy and only suffer from colds a couple of times a year.

So what are the major things that cannot happen to my body?

1. I need to have a good complexion and generally look great. However, I have come out in spots. There are spots on my face, neck, chest, back and legs. An outbreak not seen since the days of puberty. I also look very tired, with dark rings under my eyes and my hair is acting lank and rubbish.

2. I need the use of my feet. Ooohhh dear. I have managed to burn my foot on my new hot water bottle (don’t fill them with boiling water when drunk). I now have a gigantic burn blister on my right foot, right on the bone, ouch. The wearing of shoes is rather painful, and the shoes I will be wearing tomorrow will cause major problems.

3. Feeling healthy? Guess what? No. I am so tired I am fighting a losing battle with sleep. I have a splitting headache, my joints hurt, my head is very muddled (‘isn’t it always’ – sarcastic Ed) and my eyes are burning. In short, I am coming down with a rather sever cold. I do not get them often but when I do they are nasty.

4. I will not be able to blow my nose during the coming event. I am presently very snotty. It is running down my face. The use of a hanky is fine now but in 24 hours touching my face will not be an option.

I must stop saying to myself, “What is the worst thing that could happen?” Yet again all those things have come to pass. I cannot cancel the thing and I will not be at my best. All I will say is that I am very scared, very scared. Watch this space.

Or I could stop worrying and just enjoy myself, but that would be too easy.

Oh, now I am all confused and worried for you.

Are you going to be one of those living statues?

Or is it a music video where you play a living statue.

Are you planning to infiltrate the government disguised as Darcy Bussell?

Well anyway, take care and have fun, and if your nose is still snotty you could always plug it with some tissues or a small cat. Desperate times call for desperate measures and all that??
