Readers of Jo Beaufoix’s brilliant blog will have seen her post yesterday. She wrote a rather emotional and heartfelt piece about Napoleon and the positive life-changing effect he has on people. I have to agree with her wholeheartedly (apart from the handsome bit). It was Napoleon who persuaded me to begin blogging and resurrect my musical career. I am still stuck in job I hate but now, thanks to Napoleon, I have tangible plans for the future that involve making millions of pounds and being exquisitely famous.
Please read his blog. It is absolutely brilliant - his writing is exceptionally creative, funny, bittersweet and intelligent. I am rather jealous of Napoleon – he is a genius, and I do not say that lightly. To misquote Machiavelli from ‘Il Principe’; there are three types of people:- those who pick things up immediately, those who pick things up after having it explained to them and those who will never pick things up. I am in the second category, Napoleon is firmly placed in the first.
He is also a rather talented musician and songwriter. Listen to any Enormous or Slaughterhouse 5 song and you will see what I mean. I really cannot wait for his new material to come out on Big Arena Records. Presently he is working hard on my new songs. He is my producer and manager and a member of my backing band The Donovans Of Trash. Check out MySpace for a couple of rough mixes of songs that will appear on ‘Idiot Fever’.
Amazingly there is one thing that I can do better than Napoleon. I look better in drag (but then I’ve never seen Nap in a dress, and frankly I really don’t want to.) I have Napoleon to thank for helping me be open about my cross dressing and I can now stand up straight and tall (especially in heels) and say that I am proud of what I am. Why should I feel ashamed? Napoleon had the brilliant idea to mix the dressing with the music and attitude and Nelson Galaxy was born.
Thank you Napoleon. I love you man, almost like a big brother. All hail Napoleon.
Can I have that tenner now Nap?
