Last night we had a company drinks event. To make things interesting everyone had to endure a pub quiz. So we could mingle and meet members of other departments we were placed into teams made up of various little known colleagues. My team was a very international affair, with people whom originated from India, Norway, Italy, Denmark and Stoke.
One of the team was a new starter whom has just moved here from Germany. Now, I have nothing against Germans, I even dated a beautiful German girl for a while. However, in the company of former Prussians, I suddenly develop Hitler tourettes. I just cannot help shouting “Hitler” for no apparent reason. I really do not mean to offend, I just can’t help it.
This is how the quiz developed:
“Which famous singer died in 1977?”
“Hitler”
“Who invented the light bulb?”
“Hitler”
“What is the capital of Venezuela?”
“Hitler”
“Which megalomaniac lunatic tried to take over the world in the 1940s, with the aid of a small moustache?”
“Hitler”
The German girl was becoming more and more uncomfortable and the night wore on. She left half way through the quiz looking rather offended. I went home feeling ashamed.

Negative, or else may have a said something even more embarrassing.
That’s why I love you, Nelson - you’re even worse with pretty women than I am!
Nelson that is so bad. And she might have pretty friends that you have now spoiled your chances with.
Next time, if the urge comes to shout Hitler, change it to Bambi. That is much less likely to offend.
